Elements and Performance Criteria

  1. Advise customers on trade waste approval procedures
  2. Advise customers of the procedures involved in processing, approving and monitoring trade waste applications
  3. Obtain and analyse work health and safety (WHS), environmental and sustainable energy practices and procedures
  4. Evaluate trade waste discharges for new industries
  5. Identify hazards, assess risks and implement control measures according to workplace procedures
  6. Identify and evaluate trade waste management processes and workplace procedures
  7. Develop and check contingency plans
  8. Prepare trade waste management policies and plans
  9. Assess applications for high risk trade waste discharge approvals
  10. Assess applications against concentration, mass and flow limits, discharges of prohibited substances and local sewerage issues according to environmental issues
  11. Assess proposed pre-treatment systems, monitoring, control systems and procedures for suitability
  12. Assess chemical storage, handling and spill prevention procedures and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards
  13. Schedule and conduct on-site inspections according to workplace procedures

  19. Monitor and reviewtrade waste treatment and disposal approvals
  20. Establish processes to identify and report non-compliances with trade waste approvals to relevant stakeholders
  21. Identify and implement enforcement measures and processes to manage identified non-compliances
